Rated by convention delegates as the most beneficial feature of the Convention Programme and EPTDA membership, the Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange (MD-IDEX) offers an unparalleled platform for industry executives to hold face-to-face meetings with potential and existing business partners, all in one place. The MD-IDEX provides favourable grounds to nurture open discussions on latest product offerings, innovations and industry developments in a comfortable and discrete setting. All attending manufacturer members will have access to a minimum of one table space upon registration.

EPTDA's unique MD-IDEX Online Registration System allows the members to book their appointments prior to the convention for a total of up to 10 appointments of 25 minutes each, scheduled this year in Malta on Friday, October 1 from 8:30 to 16:00. EPTDA distributor companies can book up to 6 appointments on a first-come first-served basis with their preferred manufacturer. Thereafter the EPTDA manufacturers can schedule up to 4 appointments with distributors of their choice. Finally a free appointment booking session will allow each and everyone to fill in their blank agenda slots by requesting appointments with their selected companies.

In addition to the MD-IDEX, the Open MD-IDEX sessions, scheduled from 16:00 to 17:00, create additional opportunities for manufacturers and distributors to meet without prior appointment.

1. MD-IDEX REGISTRATION

It is mandatory for EPTDA manufacturer members to host a table at the MD-IDEX / OPEN MD-IDEX sessions. The table is booked automatically during the registration process for the convention. Only EPTDA manufacturer members are eligible for a table at the MD-IDEX.

EPTDA Distributor companies who have registered for the event are automatically entitled to participate in the MD-IDEX programme.

Non EPTDA member companies participating in the convention are not eligible for the MD-IDEX sessions. Nevertheless they will be able to enjoy the extensive networking opportunities available during the 3-day event.

2. ONLINE MD-IDEX SCHEDULER - PRE SET YOUR APPOINTMENTS

Navigate through the online MD-IDEX demonstration and get familiar with the online Scheduler: log on to www.mdidex-eptda.org/demo/ At any time, you can stop the demo and play it again by using the menu at the bottom of your screen (scroll down if needed). You can also replay the demo from the start. Enjoy the ride!

Appointments for the MD-IDEX sessions in Malta should be made online, using the following link: http://www.mdidex-eptda.org (available as from September 6).

Participating distributors will have the possibility to book up to six 25-minute appointments with the participating manufacturers for a given period of time. Following this period, the participating manufacturers will access the booking tool to set up to four 25-minute appointments with the participating distributors for a given period of time. Thereafter, a common session of a few days will allow each participating company - distributors and manufacturers alike - to fill in their blank agenda slots by scheduling appointments with the company of their choice.

Once the appointment has been made, no change is possible after the given period of time. Cancellations by the "inviting" company are only possible during the allocated booking session. The invited company may not refuse an appointment made by the requesting company.

All participants commit to attend their appointments. In case a participant cannot be present due to unforeseen circumstances, they are kindly urged to inform the other parties.

4. LIST OF MD-IDEX PARTICIPANTS

The final list of MD-IDEX participants will be published in due course, before the online appointment process starts.

5. MD-IDEX GUIDELINES

PARTICIPATION

Only EPTDA member companies and qualified prospects can participate in the MD-IDEX. Prospective members can participate during the Open MD-IDEX.

All member company employees are welcome to attend but must register individually.

REPRESENTATION

All EPTDA manufacturing companies hosting an MD-IDEX Table must ensure a permanent presence of decision-making level company representatives, from 8:30 to 17:00, including for the Open MD-IDEX session.

ATTENDANCE

Attending pre-scheduled appointments is mandatory for all MD-IDEX participants.

In case of absence due to unforeseeable circumstances, the signed up participants are required to inform the other parties duly.

MATERIALS & DISPLAY

MD-IDEX manufacturer participants may display literature and limited product samples (small size) on their hosted table. All the material must fit on the table provided.

MD-IDEX participants are responsible for handling shipment of their own samples/literature. Shipping information will be provided upon request.

No signs, banners or other corporate promotional items may be posted around the table or anywhere in the hotel, except for sponsors as provided for by their specific Sponsorship agreements.

PRIVATE ARRANGEMENTS

EPTDA convention policies prohibit holding private meetings, hospitality events and other events outside the scheduled Manufacturer Hospitalities / Private Networking time for this purpose, on Thursday, 30 September from 18:30 to 20:00.

The Open MD-IDEX session is not considered optional time to be used for private meetings outside of the MD-IDEX Table.
