12 Dec 2012 - Nomo's daughter company Porin Laakeri expands in Finland

Strategic acquisition strengthens position. Paves the way for Nordic expansion.
Nomo's daughter company Porin Laakeri has acquired the Finnish technology trading company Tekniikka Center. The company has annual turnover of EUR 4.5 million with operations in Turku and Forssa.

“The acquisition of Tekniikka Center is a strategic acquisition and part of our long-term initiative to become a leading Nordic supplier in the field of bearings and transmissions. In practical terms the acquisition means that we are strengthening our range of products for customers in Finland and that we are expanding our sales network for the entire bearings and transmission division,” says Lars Åkerberg, who is divisional manager for Bearings & Transmissions AxIndustries.

AxIndustries is currently active in Finland through its subsidiary Nomo and its Finnish company, Porin Laakeri Oy. Porin Laakeri is acquiring Tekniikka Center.

“By acquiring Tekniikka Center our position is strengthened even further and we are increasing our market coverage and accessibility, not least when it comes to the south of Finland. We are now better able to provide customers with total solutions for bearings and transmissions. We can also offer
customers the opportunity to reduce the number of suppliers and shorten delivery times,” says Jari Ylinen, Managing Director of Porin Laakeri Oy.
