EPTDA Regional Conference 2017 - Luton, United Kingdom

The second edition of the EPTDA Regional Conferences has taken place on the 18th May 2017 in the United Kingdom, an obvious and a strategic destination choice at the same time. EPTDA has enhanced its presence in the UK recently by organizing its Annual All Committees' Days event in London in March 2017 and planning to return to London for its Annual Convention next year in September, participating meanwhile in the Drives & Control Trade Fair in Birmingham (Spring 2018).

Considering the representation of the PT/MC industry in this country and the actual economic and political context, United Kingdom, second biggest EPTDA membership country, made it a perfect destination for this year's EPTDA regional approach, thus reinforcing the association's ties in this area.

SKF Luton

EPTDA manufacturer member SKF Ltd. UK kindly hosted the event, welcoming EPTDA representatives and their guests - existing and potential UK and Ireland-based EPTDA members and PT/MC distributors - to its UK Head Office in Luton.

Escape the chains of the process to release and capture value, reduce costs and improve performance.

by Rob Maguire

The enterprise focus for the last ten to fifteen years has been on improving processes and increased efficiency. In an ever changing world or organisation with multiple clients, stakeholders and objectives, one style of leadership is not going to be enough to deal with the different problems you will encounter.

Processes are good for dealing with simple problems, possibly even complicated ones. They don’t help and can even make things worse when dealing with complexity.

This session looked at what has become known wicked problems and what it takes to be a wicked leader:

  • Simple, complicated, complex and wicked problems
  • Developing a wicked mindset
  • Building your wicked toolkit
  • Being a wicked leader
