PTDA Industry Summit

PTDA’s Industry Summit gets underway on Thursday, Oct. 13 in Washington, D.C.

Themed “CAPITOLizing on Change,” the conference offers unparalleled educational programming and networking opportunities for top-level decision-makers from leading distributing and manufacturing firms in the power transmission/motion control industry.

The Industry Summit is designed to help distributors and manufacturers work together to move their companies and the industry forward. As of Oct. 3, there were 677 registered attendees. Industry Summit highlights include an opening keynote address by mountain climber, Wall Street financier and West Point professor Alison Levine and an economic forecast from Alan Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research. There also are workshops on “Websites that Work” and “Rule Your Inbox,” as well as a panel discussion on the effects of mergers and acquisitions on the distribution channel.

The Industry Summit also offers separate networking forums for distributors and manufacturers. Special features of the PTDA Industry Summit include the signature MD-IDEX event, which brings together existing and potential channel partners in high-level meetings that enable them to plan strategically for the coming year. The Industry Summit also offers the popular Motion Control Showcase, featuring 19 motion control suppliers with live demonstrations of the latest hardware. Rounding out the PTDA Industry Summit experience is A Monumental Affair, a private social event at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

Member advantages

As a result our formal partnership with PTDA, EPTDA distributor members can attend the PTDA Industry Summits at the delegate member fees and fully participate in all aspects of the meeting, including MD-IDEX, with the exception of being able to vote on the election of the board or on bylaws changes. Manufacturer members can attend the PTDA summits on a one time only basis, at the non-member delegate fee. They can attend the annual business meeting but cannot participate in MD-IDEX. Associate members can participate on a one time only basis, at the non-member delegate fee, but cannot participate in MD-IDEX.

50th Anniversary Industry Summit, 1960-2010

October 21-23, 2010 at J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, Arizona

A Summit of Possibilities

While the recession may be over, we're still discovering the opportunities provided by the upheaval that will make our companies stronger, profitable and successful. Where is the potential? Our theme for the Industry Summit, "A Summit of Possibilities," recognizes that opportunities do exist-we need to be open to new ideas, new markets, new customers, new ways of communicating to mine the gold that's out there. Envision the possibilities for your company as you meet with peers, partners and colleagues at PTDA's signature event-the Industry Summit.

2010 represented PTDA's 50th Anniversary as the leading association for the industrial power transmission/motion control distribution channel. But, before there was an association, there was a convention (now known as the Industry Summit). The value of face-to-face conversations in building and strengthening relationships is just as important in today's world of instant communication as it was in 1960 when Warren Pike founded PTDA.
